3.5 Playoffs: NSSL Playoffs will only be held for select divisions in the summer. These divisions are determined by the Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial Championship format for said division. If the NSSL division receives 4 or more provincial championship berths, the division will not have playoffs and the top 4 teams from the regular season (as determined by section 6. Standings) will qualify for Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial Championships. If the NSSL division receives fewer than 4 provincial championship berths, NSSL Playoffs will be held and the top 4 teams (as determined by section 6. Standings) will qualify for NSSL Playoffs.
Playoff Rules:
In addition to all league rules that apply to regular season play, the following rules apply specifically to playoff matches.
8.3.1 Playoff games that end in a tie will be decided by penalty kicks from the mark, 5 kickers as per the laws of the game.
8.9.1.3 Playing up is not permitted in any NSSL playoff competition.
Playoff Format/Information:
Any AA, A, or B NSSL divisions that have league playoffs will use a 4-team, single knockout format. Regular season standings will determine playoff placement and games will be the following:
Semi-Final #1: 1st Place vs. 4th Place
Semi-Final #2: 2nd Place vs. 3rd Place
Final: Winner of Semi-Final #1 vs. Winner of Semi-Final #2
*Third-Place Match: Loser of Semi-Final #1 vs. Loser of Semi-Final #2
In divisions with 1 Provincial Championship berth, the winner of the final will qualify.
In divisions with 2 Provincial Championship berths, the winner and the finalist of the final will qualify.
*In divisions with 3 Provincial Championship berths, a third-place match will be held. The winner of the final, the finalist of the final, and the winner of the third-place match will qualify.

YOUTH A & B
2To view NSSL League Playoff Schedules, the Game Type Selected must be "Outdoor Play-Offs"
3Some divisions will require a challenge game in accordance with The SNS Competitions Handbook (U13A Boys). The winner of the third-place game will be required to play the challenging team in the challenge game, the winner of the challenge game will receive the berth to the provincial championships.
Youth AAA
Youth AAA Divisions will use a 6-team, single knockout format. Regular season standings will determine playoff placement and games will be the following:
QF #1: 4th Place vs. 5th Place
QF #2: 3rd Place vs. 6th Place
SF #1: 1st Place vs. Winner of QF #1
SF #2: 2nd Place vs. Winner of QF #2
Final: Winner of SF #1 vs. Winner of SF #2

4In Youth AAA Divisions, Provincial Championships are replaced by the AAA Cup Competition
As divisions finish their regular season schedules, confirmed final standings will be linked in the above tables. These have been reviewed by league staff for accuracy.
Regarding regular season standings:
6.4 In cases where not all teams in the division have played an equal number of games, final standings will be calculated using Pts. % (total pts/games played)
6.4.1 In the event that a team changes divisions part way through the season, only games that took place within the division are considered in the determination of standings
